Two more men who inspected police car in Rantau nabbed

SEREMBAN: Police have arrested two more men suspected to be involved in the inspection of a police patrol car in front of a school in Rantau on Saturday.

Acting Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop said police the two suspects were picked up in Nilai and Rantau separately at about 11.30am today.

“The men, in their 20s and 40s, completed our search for five men who were believed to be involved in the incident.

“Three of them have been apprehended yesterday and currently under remand. We will obtain a remand against the latest two soon,” he told reporters today.

In Saturday’s incident at about 6pm, two policemen in a patrol car were escorting another car that was carrying ballot papers to a tallying centre at SJKC Chung Hua when they were stopped by a group of individuals who demanded to inspect the police vehicle for possible excess ballot papers.

Police said the case was being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing civil servants from carrying out their duties. -– Bernama
