KUALA PILAH: Hari Raya Aidilfitri comes early for some 24 asnaf (eligible recipients of tithe) under the Senari Kariah Mosque here, when they received RM300 each from Negri Sembilan Baitulmal, yesterday.

Single mother, Roziah Bahaman, 50, said she was thankful for the assistance which she said would eased the burden of preparing for Raya celebration.

“I am grateful and overwhelmed by the kind gesture from people out there who are willing to help us, especially since Ramadan month has just started. This will definitely ease our burden.

“I plan to use the money to cheer up my three children by buying them new clothes for Raya. I will also allocate some of it to buy other items needed for Aidilfitri,” she said when met at the 'buka puasa' (breaking of fast) function at the mosque.

The aid was delivered by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

At the function, 24 mosques - 17 under the Juasseh state constituency and seven under Senaling - also received RM2,500 financial aid each.

Apart from that, seven surau under Senaling Kariah Mosque also received RM500 assistance to be utilised throughout the month of Ramadan.
