If someone mentions BTS one more time I will kill myself, jokes AA boss

AIRASIA Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes today quipped that he does not fancy Korean pop or K-pop.

Speaking at a meet and greet session for his autobiography "Flying High" in Jakarta, Indonesia, Fernandes said the genre sounded too uniformed to him.

He is however impressed with how South Korea markets their music.

As quoted by CNN Indonesia, Fernandes joked, "My wife is from South Korea, but I am tired of K-pop. If someone mentions BTS one more time, I will kill myself, or Blackpink, redpink or whatever pink."

Meanwhile he admitted that he would be seen as a failure if he could not bring the famous Korean pop group BTS for a concert in Malaysia, in light of his role as the chairman of Malaysia Stadium Corporation (MSC).

Last year, following his appointment as chairman, Fernandes hinted that Malaysia could see acts like BTS "and who knows even U2".

Not a stranger to the music industry, Fernandes who was formerly attached to Warner Music Group, shared his dreams of popularising A-pop (Asia Pop).

He said South East Asians were more talented than Koreans, drawing an example of Indonesia's famous pianist Indra Lesmana.
