Lots of info at JB's MyRumah property showcase

JOHOR BARU: The third leg of the 2019 MyRumah Property Showcase, which ended at JBCC Komtar, near here, yesterday, was a success in terms of visitor attendance.

Showcasing properties valued between RM300,000 and RM500,000, the event organised by the New Straits Times Press attracted first-time homebuyers and those who want to invest in properties in the state.

Talks by property experts and housing developers were held at the three-day event to give visitors tips and information on owning a home.

There were activities, lucky draw and offers to entice the crowd.

Those who had booked a home by placing a deposit with developers stood a chance of winning the grand prize, a Nissan Almera car.

On the final day of the showcase yesterday, Mortgage Reduction Planning (MRP) Advisory Services chief executive officer Franciss Chin Tse Piau spoke on the topic “How you can save up to 80 per cent on home loan through the MRP programme”.

In addition, visitors gained insight from assistant engineer Ahmad Mohd Amin, who gave a talk on “Housing and Local Government Ministry’s products”, followed by National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) branch manager Azli Abdul Aziz’s talk on “Managing your finances efficiently”.

Khalil Adis Consultancy Pte Ltd founder Khalil Adis, meanwhile, offered visitors tips on what to look out for when setting out to buy their dream home.

The Johor leg of MyRumah offered more than 3,397 residential units with a gross development value of RM2.2 billion.

Eight developers took part in the property showcase, namely Bukit Pelali Properties Sdn Bhd, Dynasty View Sdn Bhd, GuocoLand (Malaysia) Bhd, Johor Land Bhd, KPKT and the National Housing Department, Selangor State Development Corporation, Seri Alam Properties Sdn Bhd and UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd.

They were joined by MBSB Bank Bhd, Lionmas Furnishers (M) Sdn Bhd, Oriental Food Industries Sdn Bhd, PTPTN and Takaful Ikhlas Bhd.

The first series of MyRumah was held at MyTown mall in Kuala Lumpur in March with more than 100,000 visitors, before moving to AEON Mall, Malacca, last month.
