CEE841 goes for RM5,100

KUANTAN: The bidding process for the CEE license plate series in Pahang recorded a collection of RM1.024 million.

The bidding was held for five days which saw the participation of 904 bidders. However, only 424 were successful.

Pahang Road Transport Department (JPJ) director Mohammad Abdullah said the highest bid recorded was for the CEE 7 and CEE 9 plates at RM58,000 each.

The bidding process was done via JPJ's online e-bidding called JPJeBid. It started on Aug 30 and ran until Sept 3.

The second highest bid was for CEE 3 at RM50,000 followed by CEE 8 at RM44,444 and CEE 5 at RM43,000.

The successful bidder for CEE 841 meanwhile snapped up the plates at RM5,100.

CEE 96 had the highest number of bidders at 13 with the winning bid at RM3,800.

Mohammad announced this at a press conference at the Pahang JPJ headquarters, here, today.

He said the CEE series recorded the highest amount of collection compared to the CED series which collected RM895,940.

Commenting on the online system, Mohammad said the JPJeBid, introduced recently helped to increase the amount of collection compared to the old system.

"The JPJeBid process offeres transparency from the registration transaction right up to the payment process.

"The system also helped to improve and increase the efficiency of the management of license plates registration," he said.
