Pahang Go, easy way for state folk to make online payments

KUANTAN: Tired of waiting in long queues to pay utility bills or purchase bus tickets?

Tomorrow, the state government will launch the Pahang Go mobile application which will make it easier for those in the state to make payments from home without the hassle of waiting in queues or spending time finding parking.

Paying utility bills, parking fees, vehicle road tax renewals and phone bills are just a click away.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail is scheduled to launch the mobile application during a gathering with civil servants at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall in Bentong tomorrow.

A Pahang Go spokesman, who is part of the team responsible for developing the application, told the New Straits Times today that the soft launch would allow his team to gauge the efficiency of the mobile application and include additional features in stages.

He said people would be able to make payments or make purchases online from the comfort of their homes without any additional charges.

“If previously they paid their utility bills at the post office, purchased bus tickets from the terminal or spent quite time to find a kiosk selling parking coupons, they can now complete the payments online by just downloading the application.

“As for now, users might not be able to locate all the state-based government agencies listed in Pahang Go, but it will be included in stages before the end of the year.

“Users only need to sign-in, login and start using the application by following the required steps.

“For example, Pahang Go users will no longer need to buy or display parking coupons but instead make payments online.

“Users will be notified just before the parking time expires and can continue adding more time by making the required payment.”

He said users could also pay quit rent, compounds, study fees or loan repayment (only those linked with the state government) and pay postpaid and pre-paid mobile bills.

In future, he said users would be able to make hotel and homestay bookings as well as buy football tickets for Malaysian League matches involving the Pahang team.

Wan Rasdy had previously described the application, which is the brainchild of the state government, as an initiative to transform agencies under the state government to be more efficient.

The Pahang Go app can be downloaded from Google PlayStore and App store.
