KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad took his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, out on a “date” in downtown Kuala Lumpur on Friday evening.
Several photographs of the romantic event, which were uploaded to social media, include images of the Prime Minister driving a Proton car in and around the capital, with Dr Siti Hasmah by his side.
“Once in a while, (I) take Hasmah dating in KL,” Dr Mahathir said in an Instagram post in @chedetofficial, today.
The duo later stopped for a bite to eat at a café in the Bukit Bintang shopping district.
So far, the post, which contains three photographs and one video, has received over 55,000 ‘likes’ and 2,000 comments.
Among those who responded to the post is iconic singing superstar Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, who posted a heart emoji.
Others expressed their admiration for the couple, and said they prayed for their prosperity and health; while other netizens gushed over how “cute” and “sweet” Dr Mahathir and Dr Siti Hasmah are, adding that they have become Malaysia’s “relationship goal”.
