PAPAR: Three died, three others were seriously injured and one suffered light injuries in a two-vehicle crash at Kampung Tuntul, Jalan Pan Borneo last night.
District Fire and Rescue Department chief Roslie Jun said it had received an emergency call at 8.40pm regarding the accident involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle.
Upon receiving the call, he said the department deployed a fire engine and an emergency medical rescue services vehicle to the scene.
"All seven victims were extricated from the wreckage and three were pronounced dead at the scene. Their remains were with the police and those injured had been taken to the Papar Hospital,” he said, adding that the identities of victims were yet to be known.
Roslie said the department had conducted further inspection to ensure the location was safe and the operation ended at 10.24pm.
