PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry registered 22 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today, bringing the tally of infections in the country to 6,894.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cases raise the total number of active cases to 1,210.
"Out of the total 22 new cases, five are imported and 17 are local. Of the 17 cases, nine are foreigners," he said at his daily press conference here today.
Dr Noor Hisham said 59 cases have recovered and were discharged today, raising the cumulative number of recovered cases to 5,571 or 80.8 per cent.
He added that there are 13 Covid-19 cases being treated at intensive care units, with seven requiring breathing assistance.
He noted that no new deaths were reported today and the number of Covid-19 fatalities remains 113 (1.64 per cent).
