Expletive-laden video: TH Properties CEO to be called in for questioning

KOTA BARU: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tabung Haji (TH) Properties Sdn Bhd Damanhuri Mahmod is among several people who will be questioned over an expletive-laden video that went viral.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Ahmad Marzuk Shaary said the CEO and several others were expected to be called in by the religious affairs division this week.

"I was told that it was a closed-door meeting involving the agency's administrative staff and in the video, the top personnel was seen uttering expletives at others present.

"We have begun our internal investigation after the video went viral. The probe is more to identifying the cause of the incident and how the video leaked," he said.

The Pengkalan Chepa MP told this to reporters after presenting school aid to 600 children in his constituency here today.

Marzuk said the incident does not reflect the true image of the company as an Islamic institution.

"The actions do not reflect the company's values. It is just a lapse committed by the top staff of the company.

"He has already apologised but I believe a thorough and comprehensive investigation from an administrative aspect must be carried out," he said.

The three-minute video featuring the CEO of TH Properties uttering expletive words in English and Bahasa Malaysia several times at a meeting believed to involve the agency's administrative staff went viral recently.

Damanhuri has since apologised over the incident.
