Malaysian student critically injured in Manchester road accident

LONDON: A 20-year-old Malaysian student suffered critical head injuries after a bus crashed into her as she was cycling along a road in south Manchester.

Following the 4.25pm (UK time) incident yesterday, Nur Izzah Mohd Shokri, a first-year accounting and finance student at the Manchester University, was rushed to the Salford Royal Hospital to undergo neurosurgery.

Education Malaysia UK student affairs attaché Firdaus Zakaria said arrangements had been made for her parents, who live in Karak, Pahang to fly over here.

The Manchester Evening News reported the incident.
