Sabah enters Phase 2 of NRP on Saturday

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah will enter Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) on Saturday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today the National Security Council (NSC) decided that Sabah has met the threshold of the three main indicators that can allow it to transition to next phase of the plan.

"All agencies, including the Health Ministry, had today examined the threshold indicators for this state. The NSC has agreed for the transition to take place effective July 10," he said in a statement this evening.

He said a detailed list of the NSC's standard operating procedures under Phase Two of the NRP can be found on its website at www.mkn.gov.my.

In another development, Ismail Sabri said the government had decided to set up an army field hospital at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang to support and help the healthcare system there.

He said the decision was made following the overall upward trend of new cases in Selangor in the last 14 days.

"With the increasing number of clusters in the last 14 days, the government has also agreed to build a field hospital in Selangor and the next in Melaka," he said.

Ismail Sabri said the armed forces was ever ready to assist and support the national healthcare system with the setting up of field hospitals in any state which may need it.

"When it comes to this matter, the armed forces will discuss further with Health Ministry on such requirements before proceeding further," he added.
