Man found dead in Tanjung Sepat died of Covid-19

KUALA LANGAT: Police have confirmed that the man found dead on the streets in Tanjung Sepat here on Wednesday had died of Covid-19.

Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor said this followed a post mortem conducted on the 53-year-old's body.

His officers were notified on the discovery of a body on Jalan 3 Tepi Laut at 5pm through a phone call.

He said the police then contacted the health clinic there and the facility dispatched an ambulance.

"They examined the body as soon as they arrived and pronounced him dead," Berita Harian reported him as saying today.

Ahmad Ridhwan said early investigation found no criminal elements and the deceased's Covid-19 positive status was established following an examination by the Banting Hospital Forensic Unit.

A 19-minute clip on social media went viral earlier showing health officers examing the man lying unconscious on the street.
