KUALA LUMPUR: The cabinet and government's administrative machinery will continue to function as usual in delivering the trust and responsibility of the people, especially in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this amid the latest political development enveloping the country following yesterday's announcement by Umno to withdraw support from him and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
In a special address this afternoon, Muhyiddin also pledged that he would ensure the country's vaccination drive under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme will proceed as scheduled and not be affected by such development.
"The same applies for all the assistance announced by the government, which will be received by the people without any obstacle," he said.
"l would like to also call on civil servants, especially frontliners, to remain steadfast in carrying out their duties and responsibilities without being affected by the political turmoil deliberately triggered by certain quarters who tried to 'menangguk di air yang keruh' (akin to taking advantage when someone is in difficulty)," he added.
