GE15: Ask Anwar to explain his wealth, says Wan Saiful

TASEK GELUGOR: It is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is rich, so much so that there is no need for him to take a salary if he becomes the prime minister after the 15th General Election (GE15), Perikatan Nasional said today.

PN candidate for the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat, Datuk Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan, said the only rich person here was the Pakatan Harapan chairman.

"Ask him to explain where his wealth came from before accusing others," said the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) information chief.

Wan Saiful said this when asked to comment on Anwar's claims that PN was the richest party now as it obtained projects worth billions of ringgit during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anwar had also claimed that when the PN chairman was the prime minister then, many projects were awarded without open tender to certain parties.

Anwar had declared assets worth about RM11.2 million as of today.

Meanwhile, Wan Saiful also said the only stable coalition now was PN.

He said, in Barisan Nasional, there were differences between Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Khairy Jamaluddin.

In PH, Anwar and his deputy Rafizi Ramli were challenging one another.

"Both coalitions are not stable.

"Only PN, which comprises Bersatu, Pas and Gerakan, can offer stability to the people," he said.

Wan Saiful said based on the reading on the ground, he was in the forefront to win the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat.

Nevertheless, he said, the coalition would continue to work hard until the very end.

"Based on the study, PN is leading but with a small percentage. The people's support for PN is on the increase.

"We will not rest on our laurels and will go all out to win the hearts and minds of the voters before polling," he said.

Wan Saiful is in a five-cornered fight for the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat with BN's Datuk Muhamad Yusoff Mohd Noor, PH's Nik Abdul Razak Nik Md Ridzuan, Warisan's Mohd Akmal Azhar and Gerakan Tanah Air's Datuk Dr Abdul Halim Sher Jung.
