KUCHING: Two people were killed while seven others where injured in an accident involving two vehicles in front of Paragon Concrete, at Jalan Batu Kawa here, last night.
A spokesman from the Operations Center (PGO) of the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said an emergency call about the incident was received at 11.24 pm before Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) personnel were dispatched to the scene.
"Upon arrival at the scene it was found that the accident involved a Toyota Mark X and a Proton Saga."
"Two victims were pinned in the Proton Saga while five other victims, along with the two victims from the Toyota vehicle, managed to get out of the vehicles with the help of members of the public before the we arrived," he said in statement today.
The firemen freed the two trapped victims in the Proton Saga using special equipment.
"A male victim who was pinned to the driver's seat and another in the front passenger seat, were confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health personnel at the scene of the incident."
