SEGAMAT: A fire destroyed five Cepat Express buses parked in a workshop in Jalan Kejuruteraan 1 in the Segamat Industrial Park here yesterday.
The 7.10pm blaze destroyed almost 90 per cent of four of those buses parked at the workshop, which also served as the bus company's depot.
Fire destroyed 30 per cent of a fifth bus, which was parked close by.
Bandar Baru Segamat Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Muhd Hazim Abd Razak said 17 firefighters took about three hours to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to more buses in the workshop.
"Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The cause of fire and cost of damages incurred have yet to be determined," he said.
