Nini Yusof appointed Media Prima Television Networks, Primeworks Studios CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Nini Yusof has been appointed as the new Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) and Primeworks Studios chief executive officer effective Aug 1.

Media Prima Bhd, in an announcement today, said Nini will succeed Datuk Khairul Anwar Salleh, who decided to step down to pursue his keen interests in the field of arts and creative writing.

"As chief executive officer, Nini will oversee the operations of TV3, TV9, 8TV, ntv7, Tonton and Primeworks Studios. She reports to Media Prima group managing director, Rafiq Razali.

"Nini's most recent appointment within the group was as deputy chief executive officer of MPTN and Primeworks Studios. She held several key leadership roles within Media Prima since joining in 2012.

"Her previous senior positions include director of sales and strategy of MPTN and chief content officer of Media Prima Omnia and Primeworks Studios," said the statement.

Nini has led several highly rated content co-productions with international broadcasters and partners such as SBS for Masters In The House Malaysia, E! Entertainment for E! News and the upcoming Cooking For You, a culinary special through a five country co-production initiative under the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).

In 2016, she launched a key business transformation initiative aimed at diversifying the group's revenue streams in the joint venture between Media Prima and South Korea's CJENM in the CJ Wow Shop home shopping and e-commerce platform.

Prior to joining Media Prima, Nini was with NBC Universal, Fox Networks Group and STAR TV.

"Based in Singapore, she was responsible for affiliate sales and marketing, distribution in nine markets for over 20 channels including National Geographic Channels, FOX and STAR brands.

"She was also part of the Fox International Productions film development team for the Indonesia market. Nini started her career with KPMG."

In welcoming Nini in her new role, Rafiq said her extensive experience in the domestic and regional media segments is invaluable for the group to continue providing high-quality content for audiences and innovative solutions for advertisers.

"Her proven track record with Media Prima will ensure a seamless integration into the new role as we continue to navigate the rapidly evolving media landscape," he said, while expressing gratitude over Khairul Anwar's contribution to the success of MPTN and Primeworks Studios.
