PETALING JAYA: The Selangor government has granted an additional day off for all civil servants on Friday (June 30) in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration, which falls on Thursday (June 29).

Selangor State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim, in a statement this evening, said the state government had decided to give the extra holiday for its civil servants.

"Following the Hari Raya Aidiladha date announcement, which falls on Thursday (June 29) or according to the Muslim calendar Zulhijjah 10, 1444H the state government has agreed to declare an additional holiday, the next day, which will be on Friday (June 30) for all civil servants under the state administration.

"This declaration is in accordance with the Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369)," he said.

Haris said the additional leave facility was specifically for all state government departments, agencies, and local authorities in Selangor.

He said the statutory body, state government subsidiary companies and privately owned businesses were not subject to adhere to this instruction.

"As stated under the Employment Act 1955, it is up to the employers and business operators whether to declare leave or otherwise," he said, wishing all civil servants and Selangorians a happy Hari Raya Aidiladha.
