Johor state representatives urged to support vulnerable communities amidst soaring prices

JOHOR BARU: Johor Menteri Besar urged state representatives to aid the people due to the increasing prices of essential goods.

Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi took to his Facebook account, calling for representatives not to neglect their responsibilities and should be on the ground actively supporting those in need.

"The responsibility of ensuring vulnerable groups receive the necessary attention should not be neglected," he said.

Onn Hafiz, who walked the talk, visited residents in the People's Housing Project (PPR) and Government Rented Houses (RSK) scheme housing estates at Melana Indah yesterday.

He distributed essential food items during his visit, including rice, cooking oil, and eggs.

The food basket aid distributions were done at seven government-rented houses schemes and the People's Housing Project locations, including in Larkin, Cendana 1, Cendana 2, Desa Mutiara, Sri Iskandar, Pelangi Indah, Setia Indah, and Seri Alam.

Onn Hafiz said the initiative would continue in other PPR housing estates in the capital city.

He hoped the community would remain resilient as they faced these challenging times.
