Agus mulling to file lawsuit against Chegu Bard over "doctored" lewd viral video

BANGI: Ex-Community Communications (J-KOM) Department director-general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff said he would take legal action against blogger Badrul Hisham Shaharin, popularly known as Chegu Bard, on a viral clip showing the former conversing with a man named Wahab.

In a press conference tonight, Agus deemed that such a posting has caused irreparable damage to his reputation and will discuss further with his legal team.

He also said a police report was lodged at the Kajang police station this evening on the viral video allegedly showing him having a lewd conversation with Wahab, which was claimed to be doctored.

Agus further said that he had provided the related documents needed by the police and would cooperate fully in the investigation.

"I have instructed my lawyer to issue a letter of demand for publishing the video on Facebook and ask him to take it down," he said.

On the video, Agus said that the video was supposed to be longer and had been appropriately doctored or framed using a voice-over technique, as he claimed that the original video had no audio.

Backing Agus's claim, Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, the man talking to Agus in the viral video, admitted that he was influenced by a senior official named "Mr H" who promised him positions if he managed to bring down the head of J-KOM.

"As a new officer at JKOM, I feel excited to carry out the assigned tasks. I was instructed to record a video conversation with Datuk Dr Agus to obtain evidence of his involvement in immoral and illicit activities. The reality is that the video I recorded is without audio," Wahab said.

Agus and Wahab held a press conference to address the viral clip and were grilled by reporters over the video's authenticity.

Yesterday, a clip of Agus and Wahab having a video call went spiralling all over social media, just hours after the head of J-KOM confirmed that he had resigned.
