BATU PAHAT: A couple sustained first-degree burns when they attempted to move their car parked under a wooden shed in Kampung Petani Batu 11/2, here, last night.
Fire and Rescue Department's operation commander Ridwan Gembor said in the 11.19pm fire, the victims suffered the burn when they attempted to move their Proton Waja parked under the shed, which was completely destroyed.
About 10 per cent of the car was damaged by the fire.
Ridwan said the victims, Mohd Najib Yahaya, 43, and his 42-year-old wife, Habibah Md Shah, received treatment from the accompanying Emergency Medical Rescue Services personnel at site.
The operation was completed within an hour after the fire was extinguished, and the site was also deemed safe.
