Sarawak prepares 12,000 Sumbangsih Raya 2024 boxes for personnel on duty during Hari Raya Aidilfitri

THE Sarawak government has prepared 12,000 "Sumbangsih Raya 2024" boxes filled with traditional Malaysian sweets and cakes to be distributed to security personnel and enforcers who will be on duty during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

Sarawak Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said that this contribution is a token of appreciation and recognition for their dedication in safeguarding the nation, particularly during festive seasons.

She hopes that the "Sumbangsih Raya 2024" boxes will hold significant meaning for the recipients in the state.

"Our intention through this contribution is to strengthen the relationship between ministries and agencies, whether under the federal government or state-level agencies. This is crucial because, in addition to ensuring security, they also ensure that our state is in good condition.

"We would like to express our gratitude to the state government for allocating funds to enable us to implement this program," UKAS MEDIA quoted Fatimah as saying during a media briefing after chairing the Sumbangsih Raya 2024 main committee meeting at Wisma Wanita in Sarawak on Jan 16.

The Sumbangsih Raya programme is a consistent initiative of the Sarawak government, introduced in 1990.

A total of 11 agencies from the security and enforcement forces will be on duty during Hari Raya Aidilfitri. These include the Malaysian Armed Forces, police, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Fire and Rescue Department, and Prisons Department.
