Columbia Asia Hospital-Iskandar Puteri welcomes 12 tiny blessings on New Year's Day

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Twelve babies were welcomed to the world on New Year's Day at the Columbia Asia Hospital-Iskandar Puteri (CAP-IP).

Five boys and seven girls were born on Jan 1, with the hospital recording its first newborn at 2.05am.

The 3.35kg baby girl's parents Nadiah Ruslan, 37, and Ainnul Azmir, 39, said the infant was their second child.

Nadiah, a housewife, and her husband, a maintenance worker, said every new year in the future would be a double celebration, as it marked their daughter's birthday.

Pharmacists Yap Ren Qian, 30, and Ong Ching Yao, 30, were blessed with their first child, a healthy baby boy weighing 2.7kg at 7.48am.

The couple, from Taman Nusa Sentral, here, were overjoyed with the safe delivery. Both mother and the infant are healthy without any complications.

Kow Hui Ting, 24, and Tan Zhi Zhong, 25, who are both bankers from Bukit Indah, here, welcomed their second child, an adorable 2.74kg baby girl at 7.45am.

Zoe Wong Shu Chi, 28, and Tan Jee Hoe, 35, a businessman, were elated by the early arrival of their second child, a 3.6kg baby boy, who was due on Jan 9.

The couple's son arrived at 12.37pm.

Sai Remalatha Rajeswari, 43, a human resource manager, and her husband Ravi Subramaniyam, 49, a real estate agent, from Taman Mutiara Bestari, in Skudai, welcomed their third child, a 2.73kg baby girl, delivered at 11.12am.

CAH-IP general manager Dr Ding Eng Li said the mothers and babies experienced a safe and comfortable environment during childbirth under the meticulous care of the hospital's team of consultant obstetrics and gynaecologists and consultant paediatricians, who were assisted by the hospital's well-trained midwives and nurses.

She said the arrival of infants was equally joyful for the hospital staff, and that CAH-IP was dedicated to providing optimal care for mothers and newborns.
