Police arrest 5 in connection with body discovered in Sg Choh

GOMBAK: Police arrested another five suspects in connection with the discovery of a man's body buried behind a residence in Sungai Choh on Dec 23.

Yesterday, a source close to the investigation revealed that three men and two women, aged between 19 and 45, were arrested at several locations in the Klang Valley.

"The arrests were made at three separate locations within 24 hours of the incident report.

"The first arrest was made at Desa Aman Puri apartment where investigators picked up two women and a man at 4.40pm.

"The fourth suspect was arrested at 6.15pm at Pusat Perdagangan Alam Jaya, Bandar Puncak Alam and the last suspect, also a man, was arrested at 11pm at Sg Choh," he said.

The latest arrests brings the total number of individuals detained in the murder investigation to eight.

The five suspects detained yesterday are under a seven-day remand to facilitate police investigations.

"Investigations have also determined that the victim's girlfriend was not involved in the case, as claimed in certain media reports," the source added.

Gombak acting district police chief Superintendent Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir when contacted confirmed the latest arrests.

Earlier, it was reported that a 27-year-old neighbour had lodged a police complaint over the murder after she overheard her neighbours' conversation at a house in Sungai Choh, Rawang.

The conversation allegedly included a plan on how to dispose of the deceased body.

Later, police who arrived at the scene recovered the victim's body from a shallow grave, where he was buried about 50 metres from one of the suspects house.

On the same day of the discovery, police arrested three suspects, two men and a woman at the scene.

The motive of the murder has yet to be determined and a post mortem has been conducted on the deceased.
