King decreed that he will not be involved in any political maneuvering : PM

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, declared that the palace will not be involved in any political maneuvering.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the decree was conveyed to him during his audience with him at the Istana Negara today.

"As is customary, I was granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, to brief him on the cabinet papers for tomorrow and discuss various current developments.

"He decreed for me, as the Prime Minister and the Madani government, to continue the work of administering the country.

"He also decreed that the palace will not be involved in any political maneuvering," he said in a Facebook post today.

In the same post, Anwar mentioned that if there are proposals from any party to donate a sum of RM500 million or RM750 million, it should be directly channeled to the needy and the poor within the country.
