200 recipients receive financial aid in Kuching for Ramadan

KUCHING: Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) has provided financial assistance to 200 individuals from its target groups this Ramadan, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

The aid distribution was announced during the Sinar Kasih Ramadan Iftar event recently.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said this was part of the government's focus on the welfare and needs of various community segments, particularly the underprivileged.

She said support for these groups was essential to ensure they experience a comfortable standard of living.

The collaboration between YKN and its partners through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives was highlighted as a key factor in reaching and aiding more individuals in need.

Nancy praised the synergy between YKN and contributors for broadening the impact of their welfare programmes.

The iftar event saw participation from approximately 500 guests, including representatives from government agencies, corporate entities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and individuals.
