Kg Sungai Paoh welcomes new multipurpose hall

SERIAN: The residents of Kampung Sungai Paoh can now enjoy a new multipurpose hall, a project that promises to significantly improve their community activities, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

The hall, which began construction in 2018 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) with an initial allocation of RM200,000, saw an additional upgrade in 2020 with a further investment of RM110,000.

The recent inauguration of the facility was led by Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Martin Ben, who is also the Kedup assemblyman.

During the event, Martin also took the opportunity to present certificates of appointment to the members of the Sungai Paoh Village Development and Security Committee.

Highlighting the government's commitment to rural development, Datuk Martin announced an additional RTP funding of RM150,000 dedicated to upgrading St Andrew's Church within the village.

He assured that further requests for enhancements at the church premises would be considered in the future.
