NPC teams up again with Macrokiosk to celebrate unity with Muhibbah Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Press Club-Macrokiosk Muhibbah Awards, aimed at celebrating unity and the Malaysian spirit, will return this year for its second edition.

With last year's inaugural series being a success, NPC and enterprise solutions platform company Macrokiosk have decided to collaborate again.

The awards recognise individuals, groups and organisations that embody the true meaning of muhibbah by promoting unity and goodwill.

NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said he was pleased with the continuation of the award series.

"By honouring those who embody the muhibbah spirit, we celebrate the unity of our nation, while highlighting the importance of kindness and compassion in our society," he said at the launch of the NPC-Macrokiosk Muhibbah Awards 2024 at the NPC clubhouse in Jalan Tangsi.

He added that he hoped the Muhibbah Awards would earn recipients a place in history as individuals and organisations that have truly gone beyond the call of duty to help one another.

"Many acts of selflessness have gone unnoticed, and it's high time that kindness is acknowledged and rewarded. We aspire for this second series of the awards to further strengthen our society and foster unity across our nation."

Macrokiosk co-founder and chief executive officer Datuk Kenny Goh said the first instalment of the award series last year had brought together Malaysians under the banner of muhibbah, fostering stronger connections, and driving positive change for Malaysia.

"We are excited to once again work with NPC to launch this second series of our Muhibbah Awards. We hope the awards will continue to inspire more Malaysians to care for one another."

Goh said he was looking forward to seeing those whose generosity and dedication resulted in the betterment of people, animals, or the environment, get due recognition.

Past winners of the award winners were the Saidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Mosque in Bangsar, Dignity for Children Foundation, Taiping Soup Kitchen-Gurdwara Sahib Taiping, couple Amirul Husni Afendey and Nur Syarina Muhammad Noor, lawyer Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar, and former editor Sheila Rahman Natarajan.

Winners will be selected by a rotating panel of judges comprising media editors and senior journalists.

The NPC-Macrokiosk Muhibbah Awards carries a cash prize of RM2,000, and a certificate.
