KUALA LUMPUR: Potholes causing damage to car rims and tyres have long been a persistent concern on various social media platforms.
Actor Azlan Sani Zawawi, popularly known as Lando Zawawi, addressed this issue on his Instagram, saying: "The majority of road damages occur due to water from broken drains seeping into the middle of the road or leaking from underground pipe channels.
"When visible signs of pavement appear, immediate investigations and actions should be taken," he said.
In a short clip, he advised those travelling from Seremban to Kuala Lumpur to beware, as many have fallen victim to severe potholes on this route.
"As of now, no serious accidents have been reported, but hitting these potholes can cause significant damage.
"This is the toll exit road from Melaka-Seremban to the KL highway and is said to be under the jurisdiction of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL)," he said in the video.
Also seen in the video clip are two car owners who were replacing tyres by the roadside in the rain.
The video garnered over 582,000 views and 11,100 likes on Instagram.
Instagram user @I_am_guapang said "This pothole has been there for a long time; no matter how many times they patch it up, it keeps getting holes again."
Expressing sadness, another Instagram user, @fyynnnn___, shared, "I also once hit potholes after the Sungai Besi toll towards KL before reaching the Starbucks. It bent my sports rim."
"I have hit this spot many times. It is scary. Before this, there were two patched spots, which were quite severe. It is very dangerous for motorcycles passing by. They could skid if they do not notice it," commented @Shazuwansofian.
@Beep18 added "I pass by here every day. This pothole has been here since after the lockdown. They patched it up before, making it a hump. If a motorcycle hits it, the rim could bend. Now it has turned into a pond again. I do not know why it is so difficult to repair."
