#NSTviral: African vlogger irked by netizens' negative comments on video on African food

KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysia-based Nigerian vlogger has called Malaysia the most racist country in the world.

Glow Ria(@glowriavlogs) made the statement on her Instagram account after she was ticked off by the negative comments some netizens left on a video promoting a stall offering African food.

In a posting, Glow Ria wrote that Malaysians spread so much about Africans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis.

"It's a problem when we fight back. Even when we do something legit, they would come with profiling.

"They don't like to see Bangladeshis working construction but they can't do the job either. It's a problem to earn more than them in their country! They glorify the white man more than gods. They're not willing to learn or listen!" said Glow Ria.

She also said that Malaysians barely travel to see the world.

"You think there is racism in USA? Come to Malaysia for premium racism! They don't hide it."

The initial video showed a Nigerian man showing the audience a stall offering African food which he operates at a kopitiam in Cheras.

While most of the comments are positive, there were a few that questioned the legality of the business.

Social media user shahidzubaid wrote: "Since when are foreigners, especially (those from the) African region, allowed to set up business here? They only get student visas from the government."

Another netizen, azr_001_002, asked: "Betul ke berniaga tu? jgn wat benda lain sudah la ye, org dh bg peluang berniaga. Majlis tlg cek sket lesen semua tu betul ada ke? (Are you really doing business? Don't do anything else since you have been given the opportunity. The local council should check the licence)

One netizen also became very harsh when describing the food at the stall.
