Selangor Pas' Sallehen believes break-up with PKR not permanent

SABAK BERNAM: Though Pas has severed political ties with PKR, the Islamic's party Selangor unit feels there could still be a chance for both parties to cooperate once again in the future.

Selangor Pas commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi said he was in the opinion that the cutting of ties as decided by Pas' Syura Council may not permanent.

"We don't know but (the cutting of ties) may not be permanent if there are any efforts towards new changes and a better situation (in the future). But as for now, the decision by the council to break ties remain.

"That was the decision where PKR and Pas will not have any sort of discussions related to the 14th general election and candidacy. This means Pas will face the general election alone. In the past, Pas members climbed coconut trees to erect PKR flags. Now we will climb ours and PKR will climb theirs," said Sallehen today.

Sallehen, who is also Sabak assemblyman, said this when asked if he sees a possibility for the political ties to be restored and both parties to join forces when the general election inches closer.

He had also once again denied a newspaper report that should the three Selangor Pas excos, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib are asked to quit, the party's assemblymen would follow suit.

"That was a scenario (portrayed by the newspaper). We have not even had any discussions on what if the excos are asked to leave. We will only reveal our next course of action when they are asked to quit," said Sallehen.
