PPBM leaders should stop being selfish; listen to grassroots: Former party division chief

IPOH: It is high time that the top leadership of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) stop being selfish and listen to the concerns of grassroots party members here.

If disgruntled state divisional leaders leave the party, Perak PPBM could be crippled, so the party’s top leaders should act swiftly and listen to their grouses, former Tambun PPBM division chief Asmadi Ahmad said today.

“The reason (I myself resigned) was that I lost faith in the party leadership, especially in Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” he said when contacted today.

Asmadi said there are basically two groups in the party now – one which is undermining the efforts of the other group (which has worked hard since the formation of the party) just to secure positions.

“We used to be a strong party, but (Muhyiddin) doesn’t realise that he is bringing the party down,” he said, adding that PPBM will not last long if cronyism continues to be practised.

“As a matter of fact, cronyism (is pervasive) in the party. PPBM’s leaders and members should stop denying this matter. It is about time PPBM leaders and members behave like gentlemen in politics,” Asmadi added.
