Just a normal discussion: Sallehen on 'private' meeting with Azmin

KUALA SELANGOR: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali's "private and serious" meeting with Pas assemblymen and executive councillors today did not discuss the Islamic party's decision to sever political cooperation with PKR.

This comes following the spread of a photograph showing Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, at a dining table with Selangor Pas commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi, as well as Pas excos - Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib - appeared on social media, suggesting that the trio's positions were at stake due the Pas' Syura Council's decision.

Sallehen, who is also Sabak assemblyman told the New Straits Times that the end of the 'tahaluf siyasi' (political cooperation) was never discussed at the meeting, which took place before the arrival of Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah for a half-day official royal visit here this morning.

"It was just a normal discussion between us and the menteri besar. We did not talk about PKR and Pas' broken ties. We discussed about issues concerning the people, from state government to housing matters to the success of the just-concluded Selangor Agrofest 2017 launched by Azmin.

"Aside from me, Zaidy who is the Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Agro-based Industries exco and Selangor Pas commissioner II and Tanjung Sepat assemblyman Mohd Haslin Hassan were present at the launch. It is normal for us to have discussions with the MB.

"This is because we decided on staying with the state government and we know the importance of the mandate given to us by the people in the last general elections." he said.
