Do away with 'cah keting' practice, Umno members told

RANTAU PANJANG: Umno members should do away with the culture of fractional politics or ‘cah keting' as the party prepares for the 14th General Election (GE14).

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said they must also stop all internal bickering and instead, put the party’s interest ahead of personal interests.

“I believe ‘cah keting' is still happening here because many members are interested in becoming candidates (in the GE) but believe they will not be nominated or that their names are not in ‘the list'.

“As such, they are upset and are willing to take measures to prevent others from contesting,” he said.

Speaking at the opening of the Rantau Panjang Umno Wanita, Puteri and Youth delegates meeting at Kolej Kemahiran Mara in Lubok Jong here today, Azeez said party members should put aside their past grievances and work towards ensuring securing Barisan Nasional's victory during GE14.

Azeez, who is Baling MP, said he remains confident that Umno would gain victory at the parliamentary and three state seats in Rantau Panjang in the election.
