GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng will make a major announcement on the fresh election for the party’s central executive committee (CEC) in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
“I have set a press conference tomorrow at 1pm in Kuala Lumpur to speak on the matter,” he said after opening the senior citizens’ day at the Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged at Sungai Dua, Gelugor here today.
Lim declined to divulge any details on the upcoming polls and insisted that he would elaborate on the it tomorrow.
In July, RoS ordered DAP to hold a second re-election for the CEC.
The re-election was supposed to be based on the list of delegates entitled to attend and vote in the CEC election on Dec 15, 2012 which involved 2,576 members from 865 branches.
The RoS had, in 2013, ordered the first re-election of DAP's CEC after detecting irregularities and manipulation of votes by the party in its initial election in December 2012.
