Our Selangor reps will remain loyal to the party: Pas Youth leader

KOTA BARU: Pas is confident that their five assemblymen in Selangor will remain loyal with the party and not jump to Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) as reported by a local media recently.

Its Youth vice-chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said he believed the report was just another attack on the party and a gimmick created by Pakatan Harapan (PH) ahead of the 14th General Election (GE14).

"I see this is a 'nerve attack' on Pas.

"I don't see any reason for them to leave the party and join PAN. If they have the intention, they would have done so a long time ago," he said.

Ahmad Fadhli, who is also Kelantan Pas Youth chief said he believed PH had purposely spread such rumour because it was afraid of the Islamic party's prospect in GE14.

"To us, PAN is not our rival at all because it is totally dependent on DAP in Selangor. PAN can't stand on its own in the upcoming general election," he said.

A local media reported recently that Pas could lose the five state assemblymen to PAN in GE14.

Quoting a source close to the party, the report said the five representatives would defect as soon as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announces the dissolution of Parliament.

The source had claimed that the assemblymen believed that they would lose their seats if they remain with Pas.
