Tengku Zuhri Aziz to contest for Umno Supreme Council member post

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Bukit Travers branch chief, Tengku Zuhri Aziz, who is also Umno Youth exco member, had offered to contest for the party Supreme Council member post in the coming party elections.

He pledged his commitment in contributing time and effort to empower the party if given mandate.

“I humbly offer myself to contest for the post and ask for friends (part members) to give their blessings.

“I hope my move would be supported through the ballots in the contest for the Supreme Council position for this term,” he said in a statement today.

Tengku Zuhri had replaced Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin as the branch chief following Barisan Nasional’s (BN) defeat in the 14th General Elections (GE14).

He was previously a board member of the Youth Research Institute under the Youth and Sports Minister.

Tengku Zuhri was also Sime Darby assistant vice-president, Youth Academics Research director, adviser to PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory and Kapten Hussein Leadership Academy chief executive officer.

He had also been appointed as the private secretary to Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister.
