Sg Kandis: Anwar to contest in two months time?

KLANG: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hinted that he might run for a parliamentary seat in two months’ time.

The PKR de facto leader, who was speaking to voters in Taman Sejati here to campaign for PKR in the Sungai Kandis by-election, touched on two impending by-elections for the Balakong and Seri Setia state seats.

“Yes, there are by-elections taking place. We did not plan for it. Yes, it can be tiring.

“There are those who questioned why we have to campaign again, but we have work to do for the people.

“And who knows I might be contesting for a parliament seat in one for two months’ time,” Anwar said.

At the same time, Anwar said voters need to support PKR this Saturday and implored the people to rally behind Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s government.

“We have seen that the people’s power can determine the country’s history (14th general election).

“The people from various races, are united to bring change.”
