Wan Saiful: Zahid should ask himself whether he has done enough as a Muslim

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s act in questioning whether Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah was Muslim has been described as “desperate”.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia supreme council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan said Zahid’s statement was merely to divert attention from the court case involving the Bagan Datuk member of parliament.

“This kind of inflammatory statement is very dangerous. Is Zahid God that he can judge a person this way?

“When he was in power and surrounded by corruption, did Zahid ask himself then whether as a Muslim he has done enough to stave off evil,” he said in a statement.

Zahid had earlier questioned Saifuddin’s statement supporting the ratification of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

Wan Saiful said if there was racial strife in the country, it would only benefit people like Zahid and Umno.

“Perhaps this is the only way he can divert attention from his court cases which might result in his incarceration in prison soon.

“Repent, Zahid. Enough with your efforts to cause damage. Don’t bring about division to the country just to serve your own personal interest.”
