I can win Pas votes in Semenyih, says PSM candidate (NSTTV)

SEMENYIH: "Now, it is likely that Pas supporters will vote for me."

This is the scenario painted by Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate for the Semenyih state by-election, Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul, when asked about the ongoing controversy surrounding the Umno-Pas pact.

Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday claimed that Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had signed an agreement to cease Pas's support of Umno.

"(If) Pas will (no longer) render its support for Umno, I think this will provide an advantage for PSM.

"This is a big opportunity for us, because it is likely that Pas supporters will give their votes to us," Nik Aziz told the media after declaring his assets at an event in Semenyih market, today.

Nik Aziz is squaring off against PH's Muhammad Aiman Zainali, Barisan Nasional's Zakaria Hanafi and independent candidate Kuan Chee Heng.

Polling is set for March 2.
