GE15: No official discussion, just chatting, says Ismail Sabri on Seri Pacific Hotel meet

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional leaders remain coy on its overtures to form a unity government with Pakatan Harapan (PH) even though it was clear that a meeting had been set up between the two coalitions at Seri Pacific Hotel, today.

Umno vice president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob when met said there was no official negotiation on forming the federal government with PH.

He said PH was only a "guest" at the meeting.

Ismail Sabri said until now the statutory declarations (SD) to name a prime minister candidate had not been officially signed.

He said BN had also requested for the postponement of the SD submission to the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun.

"We did not discuss anything or negotiate anything. The guests arrived at our house so we entertained them as usual.

"There are no negotiations with Perikatan Nasional or with PH yet.

"Yes, they (PH) came (to the meeting) so we must treat them well, we chatted, greeted each other as usual." he told reporters.
