BUKIT JALIL: Men' doubles Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong are back in business in only their second tournament together since reuniting early this month.
They recorded a sensational win over China's Liu Chen-Zhang Nan in the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Masters at the Axiata Arena on Friday.
V Shem-Wee Kiong bounced back from a first game blemish to oust the world champions 12-21, 21-18, 21-18.
They face Taiwan's Chen Hung Lin-Wang Chi Lin on Saturday in the semi-finals.
In mixed doubles, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jamie also made the last four by overcoming compatriots Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing 21-14, 21-15.
"We played well. It is not easy going against teammates as we know each other's strengths and weaknesses," said Shevon.
The Malaysians play Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet on Saturday.
The Hong Kong pair defeated Malaysia's Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying 21-13, 21-17 in the quarter-finals.
In women's singles, Goh Jin Wei fought hard before losing 21-23, 21-6, 21-10 to Thailand's World No 4 Ratchanok Intanon.
"I made a lot of mistakes in the second and third game.
"I was not patient and wanted to finish the match quickly," said Jin Wei.
