Rajagobal: No pressure for PKNS

SHAH ALAM: PKNS FC coach K. Rajagobal says his team are under no pressure to achieve the club’s targets in the M-League.

Their management expects the team to win at least one title this year.

“It will be challenging. I am not offering any guarantee that we can win something this year but my players will definitely do their best to achieve the target,” said Rajagobal.

Brazil’s Rafael Ramazotti, Argentina’s Johnathan Acosta, Colombia’s Romel Morales, Australia’s Zac Anderson and Singapore’s Faris Ramli are PKNS’ foreign signings while Mahali Jasuli, who joined the Super League side from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), is among the new locals in the squad.

“Ramazotti has a good scoring record and I believe he can make an impact here. Mahali is a versatile player and he will be an asset,” he said.

PKNS, the 2016 FA Cup finallists, finished seventh in the Super League last season.

Rajagobal, a former national coach, said JDT, Kedah, Pahang and Selangor are the favourites to win the league.

“We need to be consistent in our matches. I do not want to add pressure by talking about targets,” Rajagobal added.

PKNS, who will play their home matches at Shah Alam Stadium, will take on Terengganu in their opening league game in Kuala Terengganu on Saturday.
