Krasniqi eager to represent Malaysia

ALOR SETAR: Former Kedah midfielder Liridon Krasniqi has confirmed his interest in donning Malaysian colours one day.

Krasniqi expressed his gratitude to Malaysia, where he made a name for himself since 2015, and said he would not think twice about representing the country should he be given the honour.

The FA of Malaysia (FAM) are keen to have Krasniqi along with Kuala Lumpur's Guilherme De Paula and Terengganu's Lee Tuck as naturalised players.

Krasniqi, who is Kosovo Albanian, said FAM should continue with their programme to scout foreign players with talent to represent the country as it is a common practice in Europe.

"I was happy when I found out about FAM’s interest. If it becomes a reality, I will give my best to Malaysia,” said Krasniqi when contacted in Munich, Germany

"I consider Malaysia my second home as it has given me so much.”

Following Kedah’s decision not to extend his contract, Krasniqi is now evaluating offers from France, Malaysia and Indonesia.

"If I get an offer from Malaysia, I will not turn it down because I want to play for their national team. I need to serve two more years with a Malaysian club before I can qualify under Fifa regulations.
