PBMNS committed to unearthing new talent

KUALA LUMPUR: The Negri Sembilan Malays FA (PBMNS) are committed towards the agenda of football development in the state, which has proven to be successful in producing many top quality players for the national side.

According to PBMNS president, Datuk Kamarulnizam Mohd Sharip, they are targeting even more football activities involving the aspect of development at grassroots and amateur levels so as to ensure that football in the state continues to prosper.

Through the first PBMNS executive committee meeting that was held in Seremban last Thursday, there were positive signs that football development activities will continue to be pursued with all sorts of programmes and activities planned throughout the year involving all sides and parties.

“A couple of programmes are being planned for this year such as football clinics, coaching courses, joint ventures with the corporate sector and much more to ensure that football related activities in the state of Negri Sembilan continue progressively.

"The potential for sports in Negri Sembilan is huge, so for sure we must seize this golden opportunity to give just about anybody in the state, regardless of race, colour or creed, the chance to excel in sports and be a good example for the rest of the country.

"However, for certain all the programmes that have been planned need the people’s support as well as sponsorship from the private sector.

"Therefore, such initiatives involving supporters of the association and government bodies, as well as the incentive for the private and corporate sectors will be pursued because we are open in accepting support and assistance for the sake of developing football in the state,” he told NSTP Sports.

The Negri Sembilan squad are no strangers to the Malaysia League (M-League) and have produced some talented players along the way.

Among the notable players from the state are twins Aidil Zafuan Abd Razak and Zaquan Adha Abd Razak who graduated from Negri Sembilan’s youth development system, so therefore it is not impossible for PBMNS to continue unearthing budding, new talents for the state in the future.

Meanwhile, the Exco meeting also resulted in the appointment of PBMNS deputy president Faliq Firdaus as team manager for the team that will compete in the 2019 Sultans Gold Cup and Sharul Aziz as the association’s futsal team manager for the new season.

PBMNS are an affiliate of the FA of Negri Sembilan (PBNS) and the Malaysia Malays FA (PBMM).
