PFAM reveal 'hutang' list

THE Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) yesterday revealed the identities of 12 M-League teams (active and non-active) who have failed to settle RM6.4 million in salary arrears.

The 12 are Melaka, Pahang, Felda United (Super League), Police, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan (Premier League) and Armed Forces (M3 League) along with Perlis (barred), Kuantan FA, Hanelang, Terengganu City FC and Marcerra United.

Kuantan, Hanelang, Terengganu City and Marcerra have since ceased operations.

PFAM chief executive officer Izham Ismail said: “Some teams even failed to settle outstanding wages after receiving their grants from the Malaysia Football League (MFL) recently.

“Teams such as Melaka, Kelantan, Negri and Pahang are still keeping mum about the matter.

“Forces, Police and Felda promised to settle their debts to players in stages but did not honour them.

“Players who are still owed by defunct clubs are being left unattended. Former players of Perlis, Terengganu City, Hanelang, Kuantan and Marcerra are in limbo due to loopholes in the existing structure.

“We hope this problem will get the attention of the concerned parties.”

It is learnt that no cases against Pahang and Negri have been filed with the FA of Malaysia while Melaka have three cases pending with the national body.

FAM and the MFL will issue official statements soon.
