Messi Ganu will be an asset, says Tuck

KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu midfielder Lee Tuck is looking forward to reuniting with Faiz Subri in the upcoming M-League season.

The pint-sized Faiz, also known as ‘Messi Ganu’, joined Selangor last season after spending four years at Terengganu.

However, the 33-year-old failed to get a regular spot at Selangor and thus was released at the end of the season.

Tuck said the return of Faiz will not only add depth in Terengganu’s midfield but also inject more pace into their game.

The combination of Tuck and Faiz in 2018 saw Terengganu reach the final of the 2018 Malaysia Cup.

“Faiz has the quality and is a hard-working player, and is never afraid of taking on defenders despite being one of the shortest players in the M-League.

“We had a great season in 2018, where Faiz and I combined very well in midfield,” said Tuck.

Tuck hopes the Pasir Mas-born player will give Terengganu the added edge over other teams and also help them win a title next season.

Terengganu have also roped in several youngsters, and among them are goalkeeper Rahadiazli Rahalim, Azalinullah Alias, Hairiey Hakim Mamat, Azam Azmi Murad, Rahmat Makasuf and Syafik Ismail.

The other new signings are Singapore international Faris Ramli, Arif Fadzilah Abu Bakar, Nasir Basharudin, D. Saarvindran, Stuart Wark, Senegalese defender Babacar Diallo and Mauritanian forward Dominique Da Sylva.
