Terengganu feel like losers despite victory

KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu beat Bali United 2-0 in their final AFC Cup Group G match at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium today but it is too little, too late.

The Turtles scored through Sony Norde (39th minute) and Sardor Kulmatov (89th)

Terengganu have 12 points from six matches to rank second behind group winners Central Coast Mariners (13 points).

The Turtles now have to rely on Group F bottom side Shan United of Myanmar to do them a favour by beating Cambodia's Phnom Penh Crown by more than six goals in their final group match in Yangon tomorrow.

Terengganu currently rank second among the best second-placed teams in the ASEAN zone, but Phnom Penh are in the driving seat for the the Asean zonal semi-finals last slot as they have 12 points from five matches.
