FAM hopes for perfect pitch after Sheeran's concert

KUALA LUMPUR: If the National Stadium's pitch is far from perfect after Ed Sheeran's concert, FAM will use a different venue for the World Cup qualifier between Malaysia and Oman on March 26.

The Malaysia Stadium Corporation is believed to have "moved" 1,900 square metres of grass for Sheeran's concert at Bukit Jalil last Saturday.

FAM president Datuk Hamidin Amin said he will visit the National Stadium next week, and if it is not in good condition, they will go for other alternatives.

"If the condition isn't good, then we'll go elsewhere," said Hamidin.

Among the alternative venues put on standby by FAM are Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Stadium and Terengganu's Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium.

"They informed us that grass was brought in, and we will see if it's usable for the Oman match," said Hamidin.
